Oats and whole grains are great foods to eat; they are full of healthy fibers which help our digestion and also help keep our cholesterol levels down. Eating fruits with lots of fiber is a great way to help our hearts.
Tomatoes are great for a heart healthy diet because they are packed with vitamins and lycopene. Lycopene is an antioxidant, which is found in tomatoes and grapefruits. This type of antioxidant can help prevent cardiovascular disease, prostate and breast cancer and macular degeneration.
Avocados are full of monounsaturated fat which helps reduce our cholesterol levels. Avocados are also great for helping our bodies absorb more beta carotene and lycopene.
